This two-day experiential workshop builds on the skills and processes taught in Introduction to Interest-Based Conflict Resolution and Interest-Based Mediation. Through case studies, lectures and group discussions, participants will learn and practice advanced techniques and strategies for screening and assessment of the conflict and ways to best prepare themselves and the parties for successful mediation.

Anyone interested in the practice of mediation.
 

Topics will include

•·         Conducting effective information meetings

•·         Screening for power imbalances and violence

•·         Analysing the conflict and its suitability for mediation

•·         Coaching the parties for collaborative decision-making

•·         Identifying the key issues and interests to be addressed

•·         Techniques for dealing with power imbalances

•·         Preparing for mediation/co-mediation
 

Prerequisites

Essentials of Conflict Resolution (or Introduction to Interest-Based Conflict Resolution) and Interest-Based Mediation

Course fee

$549/$529. Participants enrolled in the Certificate in Conflict Resolution Studies are eligible for the reduced course fee.
